Nanette and Josh - celebrating love with flowers, tattoos and family, Glasshaus Outside, RIchmond.

A spring time ceremony of love at Glasshaus Outside

When Nanette and Josh hired me to be their Celebrant for their wedding at Glasshaus Outside I had no idea I’d be making friends for life!

Having being married legally a few years prior (which was definitely a surprise to so many people there!), Nanette and Josh wanted to have a big celebration that kept things simple. They wanted to walk down the aisle, say nice things to each other, have a ceremonial shot of vodka (an old wedding tradition) and have lots of laughs along the way.

We started the ceremony with an Acknowledgement of Country - something that was important to Josh, Nanette and I - and that was the last of the seriousness of the day. Everything else was designed to be fun, romantic, light and beautiful. They were super happy that their twin boys were there to witness their parents love.

The only thing I’d change about Nanette and Josh’s wedding celebration if it was to be held today is to be able to introduce them as Dr and Dr at the end - congrats on Nanette on achieving her Doctorate of Philosophy in the years since!

So much love for this beautiful day.

What they had to say

“Precious is amazing.

My husband and I were looking for someone to marry us who shared our social values, and would get what we were about.  After reading Precious's profile, and talking on the phone, we knew she was exactly right for us.  From beginning to end, Precious made the whole process easy, natural, and fun! She helped us to reflect on what we really wanted from our wedding, what was important to us, and why we love each other so very much.  Of course, you know you love each other, but going through the process of telling another person in the way Precious invites, gets you to reflect on how very special your partner is, and your wedding is, and it's just magic!

Organizing a wedding can be overbearing but Precious helped to make it all feel manageable, and on the day it honestly felt like we'd known Precious forever, and that one of our best friends was marrying us.”
