The Story
Kat and her mates had originally wanted to go to Falls Festival in Lorne, but luckily the Festival Gods were giving her subtle hints that she was much better off heading to Marion Bay for an adventure rather than staying in the beautiful and seasonally reliable Ocean Road vicinity. So Kat said to her mates “fuck it lets fly to Tassie” and love was on it’s way.
At the festival there was the regular spotting of festival goers in their Cotton On Festival shirts and lots of people hanging out day drinking and preparing for really big weekends. Will was there bouncing around the campsite with his mates having a ball of a time trying to decide on whether he wanted to see Moby or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs more, and which stage to go to next. He was newly back from travelling Europe so he was sporting a pretty killer tan with a new knowledge of the world and feeling pretty spesh.
Having just returned to the campsite site from having her fortune told our hero Kat though was too much in her own mind to notice the tall, lanky hot guy and was instead mulling over in her head what she’d just been told. The Crystal Gazing Clairvoyant had just described Kat so correctly that it was to the point of ridiculousness, and then went on to tell her that not only was she going to be bailing on her long-planned trip to the US in favour of a trip to Europe, but that her soul mate was here with her in Marion Bay. Which considering that Kat was very single at the time was more than just a bit ridic. But in the middle of contemplating all of this and reapplying her makeup in some random dudes car side mirror up – shout out our random dude Tom Friskin! – up comes Will and gives her a massive and unsuspecting hug.
