Maddy and Tom - a dark and delicious wedding at Rupert on Rupert, Collingwood.
Maddy and Tom married at Rupert on Rupert in Collingwood.
When Maddy, Tom and I met to start planning their ceremony the brief was easy. For their wedding at Rupert on Rupert they wanted a wedding that was happy and giddy with excitement. They wanted big smiles on eveyones faces, lots of anticipation and a huge amount of love in the room. The emphasis was on love and laughter and making sure that everyone in the room knew how much Maddy and Tom loved them. Neither Maddy or Tom particularly love being the centre of attention, but wanted to have a moment to celebrate and declare their love for each other.
We made sure to say a special thank you to their family for all of the support they’d given them over the years and thanked friends for introducing them and supporting them. Maddy and Tom then declared their love for each other and included promises in their vows to stay accountable for their future.
And as their Celebrant and MC it was my absolute pleasure to play a part in bringing this to the centre of their wedding.
After their ceremony they popped over to Fitzroy Gardens with Dan Brannan there to capture every moment. Afterwards the reception was fully vegan to represent their day to day life, and after speeches they kicked off the dancefloor with a beautiful and romantic choreographed first dance.

Their Story
Maddy and Tom met through friends… more specifically Maddy’s uni friends were Tom’s school friends. They started attending the same parties and would frequently go to watch their friends’ bands. They were too shy to talk to each other, but they definitely noticed each other. Maddy distinctly remembers thinking that Tom was the cute guy who she thought was too cool and way out of her league… but she liked his sarcastic sense of humor mixed in with sincerity, and his emo / bad boy looks. Whereas Tom was blown away by the – and I quote – gorgeous, beautiful, cute, hot, friendly, warm, caring, fun and easy to have a laugh with goddess that Maddy was and is.
But finally, by October, after months of lusting after each other, their crushes came to a head when they shared their first kiss at a house party in October, aided by just a touch of liquid courage.
And that was it. They have been truly, madly and deeply in love ever since.
