Erin & Matt's Panama Dining Room Wedding | Fun Meets Colourful Celebration

Erin & Matt's Panama Dining Room Wedding | A Modern Melbourne Love Story.

Set in the heart of Fitzroy, Erin and Matt's Panama Dining Room wedding was a celebration of family, laughter and choosing each other in their own time. Their wedding wasn't just about exchanging vows - it was about gathering the people they love most to celebrate the journey that brought them here and the adventures still to come. I love a wedding with bright florals - check these out! - and Erin and Matt’s certainly delivered!!

As their Celebrant is was such a privilege to help guide them to making the absolute right decisions for them, and of course to see their Nonna in the spotlight… but there’s more below on that!

From "Maybe One Day" to "I Do"

Like for so many other couples, marriage wasn't always part of Erin and Matt's plan. Over the years, playful jokes about weddings slowly became meaningful conversations until one day, "if" became "when."

Once they became engaged, there was one person they knew had to be there - Nonna. Setting a wedding date became less about finding the perfect day and more about ensuring the people who mattered most could witness the beginning of this next chapter. Their Panama Dining Room wedding became exactly what they had hoped for: an intimate Melbourne celebration centred on family, connection and love.

A Tinder Match Years in the Making

Their story technically began on Tinder, although fate had tried to introduce them much earlier.

A year before they matched online, Erin met Matt's dad, Andrew, during a house inspection. In true dad fashion, he jokingly suggested Erin could choose one of his single sons. She laughed politely, never imagining she'd soon meet one of them.

Their first official date at a Japanese restaurant started with Matt insisting on picking Erin up—but spending the entire drive carefully watching the road instead of making eye contact. Thankfully conversation flowed once they arrived, and the evening ended with tea, their first kiss and the start of a relationship that has only grown stronger.
